Oracle announced this week the purchase of CrowdTwist, maker of a customer loyalty platform. According to information released by ZDNet, the software giant intends to merge the newly acquired company with its Customer Experience (CX) cloud service.

According to Oracle, the transaction will enable CrowdTwist's customer loyalty technology to be integrated into its Responsys, Eloqua and CX Unity platforms. The goal is to make the company's CX portfolio simpler to adapt to the specific needs of its customers.

"Oracle is taking a unique approach to the customer data platform space, enabling intelligence to be applied across all consumer touch points," said Oracle Executive Vice President Rob Tarkoff. "CrowdTwist's flagship loyalty platform will significantly increase Oracle CX's ability to help our customers build more meaningful relationships with their own customers."

Note that Oracle updated its CX portfolio last month, adding a number of industry-focused features. New features include new digital assistants, sales features, and artificial intelligence tools.
